Farmoor 14th November.

A late Sand Martin seen from the causeway hide late morning was a surprise for me and two other birders who were present. Otherwise very quiet with a few Siskin and twelve Egyptian Geese.

Farmoor update







Good period for waders over the last week or so with the Highlight being a Grey Phalarope which was  first seen early Saturday morning. Other waders seen included at least five Knot with a group of three being the maximum count. Two sighting of Curlew Sandpipers bringing the total seen this month to nine. Other wader sighting included Turnstone, Green Sandpiper, Curlew, Ringed Plover, Dunlin, Common Sandpiper and Snipe. Little Gulls seen two days on the trot. Drake Common Scoter present for three days was the first I've seen here this year. Great White Egret see on Shrike Meadow most days. Five Whooper Swans present on F2 mid morning today was a surprise due to the early date.

Farmoor Reservoir : Update.





 
Good variety of waders seen over the last few days which included Ruff, Common Sandpiper, Dunlin, Sanderling, Greenshank, Redshank, Common Sandpiper, Ringed Plover, Oystercatcher and a heard only Green Sandpiper. Two Sandwich Terns seen recently and Black Terns present today.

Farmoor Update


Quiet period at the moment but still a few waders seen over the last two days, which included Redshank, Whimbrel, Dunlin, Common Sandpiper, Oystercatcher and Sanderling,

Farmoor Reservoir 10 - 11th July

Birds seen over the last two day included a Crane and two Redshank early morning yesterday and a Great White Egret and seven Little Egrets today.

A late afternoon walk around Farmoor yesterday produced a Temminck's Stint which was the first to be seen here for five years. The last record was on the 21st May 2018 when two were found. IT was pleasing to get it on Billy Farmoor list, which now stands at 192.

Two Turnstone that were seen on a ten minute visit early morning were still present when I returned in the afternoon. Other Waders seen today included 6 Oystercatcher, 2 Whimbrel and a Ringed Plover.
